L’histoire de Jasmina

Jasmina:
In August 2021 I came to Belgium with my 2 kids. My husband had been working for 3 years in Belgium as a welder before. I had been studying English through self-study, so I was able to apply for a job in English when arriving in Belgium.

I applied for a job with Avanti because my neighbour informed me about the company. I like cleaning, this gives me a lot a satisfaction. That is why I applied for this job. I was not sure whether I would make a chance to get the job as I do not speak Dutch. But this was not a problem, and I got a contract immediately. I speak English with my customers. My children teach me some words in Dutch.

Before coming to Belgium I had been working in a fast-food store, a restaurant, and a tannery. I have always been happy with my jobs; I am an easy person.

For the time being I cannot take lessons Dutch because my husband works in shifts and there is always one of us who needs to stay with our children. I have little free time as I also need to clean my own house, do the laundry and the ironing, and take care of my children.

I am very happy with almost all my customers. They are grateful and respect me a lot. I have a Macedonian friend, to whom I talked about working for Avanti as well. Maybe we can work for the same company?
